You can connect two computers wired and wireless.
CONNECTION USING WIRES
These are the following steps to connect two computers with wires :
- Etherenet cable
- Crossover cable
- Usb cable
- Ethernet cable is the simple and commonly used wire for connecting computers.This cable will come packed along with the computer purchase .
For this connection we need a modem which will detect the other device for file sharing purpose.PROCEDURE (to connect two computers)
- Connect the Cable of both the computers with the Given ethernet slots in the modem.
- To share you files , Make a folder where u can put your files to share with the
other computer.Just create a folder and right click => properties then go to sharing tab
and select share and Select homegroup and click ok .- Now place your files in That folder , right click and select share with => homegroup.
- from the other computer accept the file.
- Crossover cable is a Similar type of Ethernet cable available in the market and You can directly connect the ends of the cable with the computers.After connecting them Follow the above procedure to share files.
- Usb cable is a Different type of cable where one end of the computer connected with ethernet slot and is connected with the usb port of the other computer.After connecting them Follow the above procedure to share files.
CONNECTING WIRELESSLY
These are the following steps to connect two computers without wires(wireless):
- Bluetooth
- infrared
- wifi
- Connecting using bluetooth and infrared is very simple and lets see how to connect using wifi.
PROCEDURE
- For connecting two computers wirelessly , create a ad-hoc Network connection between them. It is simple , go to control panel = > network and sharing centre => Set up a new connection or network =>setup a wireless adhoc network then click next twice.
- Give a name for the network and select no authentication ( select other options if you need a password ) and click next and follow the instruction on that screen.
- from the other computer search for the network you named using wifi and connect it.
- To share you files , Make a folder where u can put your files to share with the
other computer.Just create a folder and right click => properties then go to sharing tab
and select share and Select homegroup and click ok .- Now place your files in That folder , right click and select share with => homegroup.
- Accept the file from the other computer.
- You can share files directly for long distances using simple softwares over internet like skype , yahoo messengers etc. TeamViewer is such a type of software to share files and screen.
- Download team viewer in both the system and instal them with the specific username and password.
- Once you login just connect with other computer by entering their username.
- When the other computer accepts the connection you can share files and screen from both the computers.You can even open softwares on their computers from yours.
