Recently i was noticing a lot of people getting scammed by the fake websites which claims to unlock the iPhones.Since i don’t want my readers to be get scammed by these fake websites i am providing you this awareness about the iPhone unlocking scam.

What is iPhone Unlocking ?

When you purchase an iPhone from the market it comes with a fixed network operator and you are restricted to use other networks on your iPhone.So unlocking can be a solution for you that helps you to use any mobile operator as you wish.
Here many people gets confused with the term unlocking and jailbreaking.Basically your iPhone doesn’t allow any 3rd party applications to be installed on your phone.If you wish to install an application that is not downloaded from the apple store then you can jailbreak your apple iPhone and install them easily.

It starts from search engines and youtube.If you had watched youtube videos of unlocking an iPhone then you might have seen plenty of comments on that video tending to unlock your iPhone for a very cheaper price and this is where the scam starts.
The person who is willing to scam over you for your money will first create a fake website that tends to unlock iPhones which will look very professional.Once you get into their website then there is 80% of chances for you to fall in their trap.Next you will be asked to enter the details of your iPhone such as version and IMEI number.Once you fill in all those details and proceed to the next page,you will be taken to the paypal website where you will have to make the payment either as a subscription or a donation.
After making the payment you will finally notice that your phone has not been unlocked and you have been scammed by their website.You have no chance of getting back your money.

How to Find Scam iPhone Unlocking Websites ?

Though it is not completely possible to identify those fake website there are few tricks you can try before you make the payment.
  • Enter a random sequence of number where it asks for the IMEI number and even after that if the website claims that your phone can be unlocked then definitely it is a scam website.
  • Search for the website’s reputation using Google.
